THE GOOD
This is a very lightweight ski that is constructed with the needs of the backcountry skier in mind. The tips and tails are designed to work well with all different types of skins. The carbon laminate core makes this ski perform well in various conditions without adding extra weight. It has the perfect dimensions for powder turns (floats like a duckie in a bathtub) and also was super fun for skiing Spring corn. I felt like they were shaped in a way to maximize edge contact with the snow and they had a surprising amount of bounce between turns.

Priced at $625, Karhu must understand that backcountry skiers (especially telemarkers) are cheap dirtbags. I appreciate the value compared to Goode Skis ($1140), and it still beats Ski Trab ($730).

THE BAD
A little jittery in variable conditions, I don't recommend these skis for the all-mountain skier who only occasionally ventures into the backcountry.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
A full pound lighter than the Karhu "Storm", the Storm BC is a lightweight, soft flex ski that is ideal for telemarking or backcountry touring in powder conditions. It's a great choice for women especially.
