AKKA SKi Retriever

We released a product called Ski Retriever that has now successfully completed its second year and is on the shelves in more than 70 locations in both the United States and Canada. Ski Retriever is the only device on the market that will visually and audibly direct you to your skis and gear from hundreds of feet away with pinpoint accuracy. The AKKA Ski Retriever is our answer to the needs of the snow sports world.

In response to the success of the Ski Retriever, we formed AKKA to house this and future products that we develop. The new AKKA Ski Retriever is a complete redesign of our original concept and includes many new features. We are using a cutting-edge directional antenna that is powerful and accurate enough to help a user locate gear hundreds of feet away and buried under feet of snow. Rather than using a passive system like other retrieval products on the market, the active radio frequency tag system allows for highly accurate locating at great distances. The tags are run on standard lithium coin cells designed to last at least one season. The waterproof handheld utilizes AAA batteries and features an OLED screen.

In addition to being able to locate the user’s skis, the AKKA Ski Retriever has the ability to locate other handhelds and a universal tag search to aid in locating friends when separated on the mountain. The system also features an innovative theft deterrent system for those who may be nervous about leaving their skis on the rack while grabbing a bite to eat in the lodge.
