EVENT ON 05/14/10 & 05/15/10 & 05/16/10 & 05/17/10
Camp, ski and make new friends at Mt Adams May 14-16th! You're invited to join SkiingtheBackcountry.com and Pine Mountain Sports for a little party on Mt Adams.

Ski the SW Chutes of Mt Adams

It's all super casual. Everyone should be able & willing to take care of themselves in terms of climbing, camping & skiing. This is not a guided trip, but just an opportunity to ski & meet new people. We are going to bring in a keg of Ninkasi beer and invite everyone to join in a weekend party. Hope to see you there!

The general plan for Mt Adams is:

TUESDAY, May 11th- meet at Pine Mountain Sports on at 5:30 PM
Friday, May 14th- meet at Pine Mountain Sports at 9:00 AM to leave for Mt Adams
Friday afternoon- snowmobile & skin in to Mt Adams, set up Basecamp, ski a couple quick laps
Saturday AM- get up around 3:00 AM to climb Mt Adams, ski SW chutes
Sunday- climb & ski again! (probably 1/2 of the group will do a quick lap & then leave, drive back to Bend)
Monday- quick lap for anyone who wants to, break down camp & head back to Bend

Carpool: all who sign up will need to arrange their own rides

Snowmobiles: We can tow in some gear on a sled, but it would be ideal if there was another sled for every 3-4 people.

Beer: We'll bring Ninkasi beer

Open Invitation: Anyone is invited- spread the word.

Call to sign up at Pine Mountain 541-385-8080

Required Skills & equipment:

*Good Fitness (a 7000' day is pretty huge)
*Mountaineering Competence

*Avalanche Competence
-must be able to evaluate avalanche terrain & make your own decisions
*Skiing Competence
