THE GOOD
Warmth The Black Diamond Mercury Mitts are the warmest mittens I've found, aside from expedition weight down mittens that would be completely impractical for everyday use. With that said, after about 2 months of use they're only about 50% as warm as they were when I first got them. For me, they work best between 15-40 degrees F. Below that, handwarmers are still mandatory.

Dexterity At first, I wasn't thrilled about the divider between the pointer & middle fingers because it reduces the overall warmth. However, it's grown on me and now I really appreciate the added dexterity and comfort. If my hands are cold, I just move my pointer finger to the other side of the divider.

Style & Color This seems silly to me, but I actually do like how they look! I have the light blue color. They also come in black.

Waterproof So far, these gloves have kept my hands dry from outside elements without exception. I have dropped them in a mud puddle and skied 1 run in fairly wet snow. However, I haven't been out in true rain- I will update this review if I ever have a problem with the waterproofness.

THE BAD
Durability Kindof ironic, but the Black Diamond Mercury mitts have been ripped apart in the thumb by the STS clips on my Black Diamond skins. Not sure whether to blame the skins or the gloves- it's a problem I've had in the past with other mittens too.

Breathability Bottom line- these mittens are too warm for a sunny spring day of exercise. No big deal to me, and if you really want you can wear just the liner or shell.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The Black Diamond Mercury Mitts are awesome. Much warmer than other mittens I've worn, comfortable and relatively affordable too! As a girl who is ALWAYS cold, I highly recommend these mittens.
