Don't fuck with WYDOT! They'll stop plowing the parking lot if people disrespect their authority. Look at the attached photo: about 10 skier cars parked IN. THE. HIGHWAY. because the parking lot wasn't plowed. Bad form.Park in Wilson, Old Pass Road, or Coal Creek and hitch up ya gas-guzzling, plow-driver-offending jackasses!
And while you're at it, enjoy the additional vert sking back down to your car!
I avoided the Pass proper like the plague and headed back to the FEDERAL RESERVE with my dog and brother. Things started feeling sketchy above 8500' so we turned around and spun a few laps in perfect pow down lower on the mountain. DEEP and BLOWER!
We could hear them bombing the Village from miles away. Heavy windloading up high today. Be careful out there... and don't park in the middle of the highway.

It seems like every few years WYDOT has to make a few waves to regain skier respect.The road has already gotten avalanched a few times this year (whether skier triggered or not is uncertain).
In addition to parking lot issues, people need to respect the major slide paths above the road. Don't ski Glory Bowl or Twin Slides if there's potential for it to take out the road. If you're skiing the NE Ridge of Glory, don't dip into the fringes of Glory Bowl, etc.
Wait to ski those slopes until spring (or at least until after WYDOT has fired their GAZ-X avy control bazookas).
Better yet, go ski the South Side, the Village, Togwotee, or GTNP on those stormy days before WYDOT has a chance to do avy control on Glory. There's plenty of other terrain that doesn't potentially take out the road.
Am I the only one who thinks riding Glory in a blizzard sucks? That hike is one of the windiest and most exposed in the range. I like riding Glory on windless bluebird mornings... and that's about it.
