Greetings from BC Canada! This is the first powder journal from Whistler and ill be looking to keep you all updated on weather, riding conditions, events, etc during the 2010/2011 season. So it was opening day here in Whistler 19th November!! Just Whistler mountain open today with Blackcomb opening up on the 25th. 12cm of snow in the last 24 hours gave a comfortable feel to the mountain for season open. Plenty of die hards lining up this morning from 7am in the search of something fresh. Very few were rewarded though with typical first day patches and rock spots popping up here and there. Freezing temps at village level and tops of minus 7 on mountain meant a cold start to the riding this year but there's plenty of time to warm up to optimum shred levels for 2011. As mentioned its just the first day of the season so pretty soon ill be posting some top updates, route info and photos from the Whistler backcountry for you to share and enjoy!
