WINDY! Had to be gusting well over 50mph near the summit. Lots of snow blowing around, lots of windloading, but no signs of avalanches anywhere I went today.

Recent snow came in pretty warm and wet... it almost feels maritime up there. I tried to trigger releases on short windloaded pitches with no success.

Still very boney up there in spots, but with the denser snow and fatter skis, you stay on top fairly well.

I scraped one rock gently over the course of two laps. The South Side of TP has better coverage than Mount Glory. Both Thanksgiving Bowl and Edelweiss were skiing great, though the top few turns on Edelweiss were a little grabby due to severely wind hammered snow.

No signs of slides anywhere on the south side. I saw my second little white snow weasel/ferret/???... whatever they're properly called. I've heard that they're good luck, so I'm stoked to have already seen two on the season.

I was tempted by the Playboy Chutes but didn't take the plunge since getting out the bottom still looks very dicey.

I'm told some people have been skiing out the bottom already, but I'll give it another few feet down low... probably.

It's always exciting when the Claw becomes skiable because that generally means stuff in GTNP is probably skiable top to bottom.
