While the rest of Jackson was twiddling their thumbs or drowning their sorrows, the local kite crew had a truly epic day.
Ten of us drove the hour from Jackson to Togwotee Pass and skinned the 30 minutes to the massive plateau flanking Sublette Peak. There we encountered perfect winds, amazing light, surreal lenticular clouds, decent snow, and a zillion dollar view of the Teton Range.
Everyone stepped up their game thanks to a visit from a prominent sponsored rider and professional photographer. The local rippers humbled me and blew my mind with committing little lines, 200+ foot airs, and other assorted loopiness. They're definitely taking kite-control and terrain exploration to the next level here in the J Hole.
It's great to be around such stoked out people. Kiting looks good again today but I'm taking a rest... coming down with the sickness.
