presented by Mt. Bachelor, is Central Oregon's largest winter festival. The 2010 celebration takes place in Bend's historic Old Mill District. With its local history and natural beauty, framed by the sparkling Deschutes and snowy Cascades, the Old Mill District is the quintessential backdrop for this full scale community event. WinterFest in Bend celebrates Central Oregon's unique culture, embracing its music and arts, beautiful environment and its fabulous opportunities for winter sports for everyone. From snowshoeing to snowboarding, from ice climbing to downhill skiing to cross-country - Central Oregon is a winter wonderland.

This and much more is what we celebrate at Bend WinterFest on February 12, 13 and 14, 2010.

Ice Carving

Events will take place throughout the Old Mill District and Downtown Bend . In 2010, Bend WinterFest favorites return and new events debut in a festival which truly has something for everyone. A fireworks display opens the festivities on Friday evening for the whole family. Kids can move on to the ice carving exhibition, the new snow carvings or fabulous rail jam while adults explore the Old Mill District and Downtown Bend. There the festival presents The Winter Wine Walk in both locations with wines for sampling and purchase from a variety of wineries. The Festival Center at The Old Mill District offers an expanded WinterFest Market Place with art, craft and food items for sale from around the region. From there, pick up a delicious snack or meal from participating restaurants and food vendors and continue on at Snowflake Village for children's activities or the Mojo Music Eruption concert series at Festival Center. The music series will feature local and national acts including The Gourds and the all-female AC/DC cover band, Hell's Belles.

As the weekend continues, there are cross-country skiing exhibitions and sprint races to catch; an expanded children's play area with more activities, art projects and inflatable adventures; and a new feature - Light the Night Walk, a dramatic winter light show with lasers and strobes for everyone to experience. Then, don't forget the traditional Nightlight Parade, for children and their light sticks, winding its way through the Old Mill District.
