Imagine living in a ski town and not being able to ski. The low pay, double jobs, the crowded housing, all for nothing. While in the U.S. we bitch about how fast the resort gets tracked up, or how crowded the backcountry is, in all our jaded anger and selfish motivations we forget just how fortunate we are. Not all locals have the luxury of whining about such trivial matters. Such is the case for the Kashmir people that live next to an amazing resort but have no means to actually ski it due to economic and social barriers. Fortunately a group of highly motivated individuals, lead by Charlie Noone, are making an effort to help the locals of Kashmir, India discover the amazing awesomeness of skiing. Skis 4 Kashmir is a non profit devoted to breaking down the social and economic blockades and promote peace through skiing. Watch the video below for an in depth look to find out what they are all about.
Skis 4 Kashmir heads out in mid February 2010 for their inaugural mission. To make a donation or simply learn more, please visit,
