Mount Adams Southwest Chute, The Endless Descent | Mount Adams Wilderness, WA United States | 06/02/09, by powderjunky

Piker Peak with Mount Hood in the background.
Another beautiful weekend led to more skiing. This time on Mount Adams' Southwest Chutes. This ski has gotten a lot of attention and has been listed as one of Lou Dawson's Classic Ski Descents. Unlike John McCain's running mate, it lived up to the hype. Enjoy the video.

Skiing on Mount Adams, Southwest Chutes.

Several times during the descent, I had to pinch myself to see if I was still skiing down. It was a pretty fun social atmosphere as well. In most places the crowds would be a turn off, but in the pacific northwest, it was nothing but stoke, smiles and high fives. That's right the high five is alive and well in Washington and we can only hope its revival can help a country that has forgotten that the pursuit of real happiness can't be found in the economy. But that's a whole other bag of cake.

Speaking of cake and other delicious treats, if you ever find yourself on the way to Mount Adams, be sure and stop at the gas station restaurant right where you turn off from trout lake. Not sure what it is called but they make a mean burger and milkshake at prices that would give most restaurants a heart attack.
A nice place to rest.

To sum up, think of all those times you hiked for your turns only to be disappointed with the lack of quality vert on the way down. Not this line, think of all the awesomeness in the world, times it by the function of the rad to sweet percentage, and then take the remainder and add a pinch of fairy dust and fart jokes. And that is what skiing Mount Adam's Southwest Chutes means to me.
More Skiing Awesomeness.
More Skiing Awesomeness.
Woof, Woof, Bark, Bark,I get all the bitches.

Believe it or not, they eat a lot of moss off those rocks, and grass when they can get it.

I am not buying it, there's got to be a taco stand up there somewhere.
