Skied the aesthetic Chute Out Couloir off the Dana Plateau Sunday. Instead of skining up the relatively steep Ellery Bowl, we used access from the top of Tioga Pass to shave a few hundred vert off the hike and enjoy the much melllower skin. This time of year its pretty easy to hitch back up to get the car as well.Tons of snow in the Yosemite area right now, and while the main couloir skied well, the enterance was a disaster of rotten snow. Thankfully, once that crux was negotiated the deep walls and good snow was a joy to ride this late in the year. Ellery bowl proper, as well as many other Danan Plateau lines and Mt. Dana proper lines (Solstice and Dana Couloirs) are looking fat and most lines had a track in them on this Sunday.
Amazing June going on in the Sierra right now, but we need some freezing asap!
Keep the Stoke Going!
