Linked up this classic with a solid group of skiers and riders this weekend. Still amazing amounts of snow in the Eastern Sierra, although we've gone from full-on winter, to (almost) full-on summer in the past week. No strong freezes, although the snow held great for this day and n-facing options are your best bet in the meantime. To link this up, shuttle a car at the end of Green Creek Road at the base of the couloir. Then drive up Virgina Lakes Road and climb the south chute, that's a great ski on its own, and choose your line down the north side of Dunderberg (north couloir is about 1100 vert) after taking in the spectual viwes (elevation 12,374).
Then, travere out the plateau and scamper up the far ridge to locate the top of the Green Creek Couloir. Enjoy the 3200-ish foot shot down to the creek before the always exciting (unless you walk down to the old cabins and find the bridge) crossing.
