Warpigsinfin: April 10, 2010 Uphill: 3,300 ft. | Downhill: 3,300 ft.
Today we skied some new to us stuff off of the NE Ridge of Teewinot. That 1/3rd of the mountain is pretty incredible... and real easy to get lost in.Bluebird morning to overcast after 2 pm. Not too hot... still skiing fresh on sunny aspects up high and great in the NNE facing shots that drop into Cascade Canyon. No signs of slides aside from slag piles below cliff bands located on higher aspects of Teewinot. The new snow seems to be setting up pretty well.
We biked in the 4-5 miles from Bradley Taggart to Lupine Meadows and put in my new favorite skin in the Park... surreal view of Teewinot from safe, mostly mellow glades on the SE side of the NEasterly of the three ridges comprising Teewinot's Lower East Face. Truly a perfect skin with amazing views, slight exposure, and mellow grades to tree line.
The potential dropping N into Cascade is massive. Amazing lines but high probability of getting cliffed out. Plenty to scope out there... should be good tomorrow... headed b
