WYOMING | TETONS (CENTRAL) | TEEWINOT, NE RIDGE, FRESH PERSPECTIVES- N SIDE SHOTS

Warpigsinfin: January 22, 2013 Uphill: 5,000 ft. | Downhill: 5,000 ft.

Untouched sugary goodness with beautiful surface crystals. Untouched sugary goodness with beautiful surface crystals on low/mid elevations NNE aspects. Variable suncrusts on SSE aspects. Windhammered and variable above 9500'. Best skiing is mid-mountain to down low on NNE aspects. Make the trek out to NE Ridge of Teewinot as was not disappointed. A party of three hit it a while ago so I gladly made use of their skin track. Skied NE Ridge from treeline to ~8500 and then dipped into the shady, cliffy, pillowy N side dropping into Cascade Canyon. Fun sugar all the way to the last pillow which deposited me on Jenny Lake. Snow so good I went for seconds on the lower ~1500' of the run. Untracked surface hoar and sugar will be sketchy for quite some time after next snowfall. ROTTEN, HOLLOW, and UNCONSOLIDATED. Bluebird morning followed by a heavily geoengineered sky. Saw a lot of planes leaving normal contrails and others leaving massive, spreading trails with abrupt starts and stops. See photos below.
