Today we skied the PMS Chutes of Doom on 25 Short. I've never heard any other name for the area (or met anyone else who's skied it) so I'm naming it the PMS Chutes of Doom.

I think the name fits because the odds of getting cliffed out if you go in there blind are about 95%. There's only one little dogleg under an overhang that connects two couloirs in the midst of 50-500 foot cliffs.

Good snow in the shade. Garbage crust elsewhere... but perfect for skinning. 4 inches of fresh up top. A dusting in the parking lot. Party cloudy skies with none of the forecasted snow. At least it's colder today after last weeks nuking heat.

Exhilarating skiing, a little exposure and perfect snow. Next time I'm going back with a rope and in search of another out.

Love the name, anytime you can use the word doom or thunder makes the line that much better.
