Backcountry Skiing Journal From:

Powderjunky: July 9, 2011 Uphill: 7,500 ft. | Downhill: 7,500 ft.

Was able to park 2 miles from the actual trailhead. There is really only a couple snow patches and downed logs in the beginning that is keeping the road closed. Not impressed that they can
't plow the road when they charge 15 bucks a head to climb.

Woke up at 3am, and everything was pretty frozen, skinned in the beginning but due to major sun cupping and hard snow we switched to booting.

There was a lot of wind on the summit and the southwest chutes didn't seem like they were softening up anytime soon, so we stuck to more south aspects. None of us really had much warm close to wait and see if the wind would die down.

Everything is pretty snow covered up there, but the sun is starting to really beat up the snow in terms of cuppage.

Pretty pumped to still be skiing in July on a april snowpack.
