JHMR is hacked up inbounds so we headed out to check out the carnage after last week's HIGH avalanche danger. We encountered an especially terrifying crown in the steep woods of Pinedale. About halfway down the ridge, the ENTIRE FACE had ripped out almost terminally (~3 feet) and slid full path. All that remained was a thin crust over the rocky, rooty, slope. The slide occurred through pretty dense old-growth forest. It ran for several hundred feet... human pinball to six feet under if caught. Brrrrr.
