After over a month without any major snow fall we finally found some consistent powder that was wind loaded from the NW on the Titus ridge side of Galena Pass between 8500/10,000 feet. A small storm and consistent winds seemed to be in our favor, although there still was a crust and old tracks 6 inches to a foot underneath the top of the snow pack. The top few inches of a wind slab seemed to want to slide on anything steep enough to slide, although it would not have enough mass to effect a skier.
