This was suppose to be a good storm day. We were planning on skiing something closer to Ketchum but it was raining most of the way up Galena Pass. We skied on the Smokey mountain side of the pass on north and west facing slopes between 8700/9500 feet. The snow was heavy and wet on top and pit scores failed on the first few taps within the top foot or so. The rain/snow line is above 8000 feet.
