THE PYRAMID TETONS (SOUTH-TETON PASS) | WYOMING | UNITED STATES

Summary | Elevation: 9,670 ft

THE PYRAMID
THE PYRAMID
The Pyramid is the first nasty knob as one ascends the SE Ridge of the Rendezvous Peak Massif. It's hard to get up safely in the winter but the rewards are often worth a little risky skinning. The pyramid offers several thousand feet of great skiing on its South, East, and North aspects. To the West a steep, serrated ridge links it to the rest of the Rendezvous Massif.

The view from the summit of the Pyramid is imposing. To the North intimidating chutes drop away. Across the gulch, Rendezvous Peak's prominent Martini Chutes look a bit more intense than they do from the valley floor.

There is no real safe route up or down The Pyramid if avy conditions are ugly. The NE Ridge ascent route offers the steep, cliffy face you just had to poke your way up. The SE Ridge presents a confusing smorgasborg of terrain. The South side goes from mellow glades to a mix of cliffed out ridges and terrain trap bowls followed by long, nasty chutes. The North face offers long, steep, exposed and uncertain chutes.
