Highlights

Short but sweet face on the South Side of Teton Pass. Thanksgiving Bowl is a great early season and low snowpack spot to make some fun turns. When Glory, Edelweiss, and everything else is hacked to pieces, Thanksgiving Bowl is probably untracked.

Ascent

From the top of Teton Pass, skin or bootpack the South Side access road like you're heading for the Claw. After you cross the second open snowfield you'll reenter the woods and encounter a short section of steeper terrain. When the trees open up, look South to the attractive but short snowfield. That's Thanksgiving Bowl. Ski down ~150 ft to the base and skin up just looker's right of the terrain trap gulley that marks the left edge of Thanksgiving Bowl. If there's significant avalanche danger, there is potential for a slide on this ~400 foot ascent.

Descent

Ski back down (about 10 turns), throw your skins on and run some laps on it. To get back to the parking lot, head back the way you came or ski NW through mellow terrain to the base of Edelweiss. Odds are you'll find an established skin track back to the access road there.

Access/Permits

None.

WINDY! Had to be gusting well over 50mph near the summit. Lots of snow blowing around, lots of windloading, but no signs of avalanches anywhere I went today.Recent snow came in pretty warm and wet.....[view]
