GRANITE CANYON TETONS (JHMR BACKCOUNTRY) | WYOMING | UNITED STATES
Summary | Elevation: 9,300 ft
The skiing in Granite Canyon is comprised of classics like Mile Long Couloir and Endless Couloir. Like the names suggest, these are sustained long runs. There are many more options, but be careful because not all the chutes are a clean exit, and can end in huge cliffs that even Jamie Pierre wouldn't huck. Be sure to go with someone who knows the area.
Toward the bottom there is usually a traverse that is long and arduous that will take you back to the north end of the resort. But expect lots of uphill side stepping and pole panting. Snowboarders usually don't go back there because of the traverse out.
Granite is north facing so the snow stays good even when the storms don't come.

There was good snow, firm snow and even ice. We could use some more snow. But it was nice and warm out there....[view]Already have a blog about this area? Link to it here.
