Highlights

A big ski tour that is relatively low angle and safe. The steepest section is just over 30 degrees at the top. Crampons are recommended if the snow is firm, otherwise you should be fine.

Ascent

Park at Devils Hill Trailhead either with a snowmobile or car if the road is open. Follow the drainage north up to a big flat meadow. At this point you shold be able to see your route very clearly. As you contine to head north your route will become more and more obvious. You are aiming for the glacier moriane ridge and then following that ridge up to the summit.

Descent

Pretty much follow the same way you came. Be careful not to get stuck in dead end gullies and terrain traps! Especially the first 1000 feet on the descent could funnel you into a huge crater if you don't veer skiers left.

Access/Permits

The South Sister is in the wilderness.
