A great ski mid to late winter. Sand Mountain is part of an alignment consisting of 23 cinder cones, 42 distinct volcanic vents, and over 3/4 of a cubic mile of lava located in the western half of Santiam Pass near the crest of the Cascade Range in Central Oregon(sand mtn society). Sand is located a few miles west of Hoodoo Ski Resort near Sisters,Or. It offers 360 degrees of excellent views with good skiing. Open shots up top with nicely spaced trees near the bottom. Quick hikes make for an all day beauty!
