Highlights

A very sustained and continuous ridge/face that is located in the heart of the Three Sisters Wilderness. The Southeast Ridge of Middle Sister gets steeper as you climb and offers great views of the surrounding South and North Sisters.

Ascent

Park at Pole Creek Trail Head which is off of 242 from Sisters. You can follow the summer trail to Camp/Chambers Lakes campgrounds or set your gps and consult your topos for a more direct line which can save two miles. Once Middle Sister is visible, it will become very obvious where you are heading. However negotiating the gullies and ridges to get to the main SE ridge might prove challenging to someone who has never been there before. Hike up the ridge to the summit. The ascent to the summit and is pretty straightforward. The ridge does narrow to a ski length for about ten feet, but besides that the exposure is minimal.

Descent

Ski what you came up. If you decide to veer off the ridge to the eastern faces and chutes be aware that those glaciers at the bottom have crevasses and should be given attention.

Access/Permits

Middle sister is located in Wilderness.
