The Spring Mountains are located in southern Nevada. Running generally nothwest-southeast along the westside of Las Vegas and down to the border with California. While the bases of these mountains are part of the mojave zone, they are topped by a montane zone. Many species of conifers add to a very diverse sky island ecosystem.
