EAST SHORE PEAK

EAST SHORE PEAK
Not many people think of skiing when they think of Nevada. However the Lake Tahoe Basin and the Ruby Mountains offer a great variety for any backcountry skier.

Mountain Ranges

CARSON RANGE (3) | 400 inches a year

In the rain shadow of the Sierra, so less snowfall overall.

SPRING MOUNTAINS (0) | 120 inches a year

The Spring Mountains are located in southern Nevada. Running generally nothwest-southeast along the westside of Las Vegas and down to the border with California. While the bases of these mountains are part of the mojave zone, they are topped by a montane zone. Many species of conifers add to a very diverse sky island ecosystem. Chutes, slide paths, big walls, open trees, obscure rolling knolls, and 300+ days of sun annually make for great touring options.
