BOULDER MOUNTAINS (6) | 400 inches a year
The Boulder Mountains can be seen along Idaho highway 75 north of Ketchum. Their big wide open faces make them a great backcountry skiing objective, but are also prone to lots of avalanches with no safe zones. The major skiing objectives would be:Galena Peak - 11,153 ft
Silver Peak - 11,112 ft
Easley Peak - 11,108 ft
Boulder Peak - 10,981 ft
Due to the proximity to Ketchum and Sun Valley, Idaho. These mountains are a great backcountry skiing option during safe cycles.

60 miles of rugged decomposing granite ranging to 7800'. Runs into Canada all the way to Revelstoke.SMOKY MOUNTAINS (0) | 500 inches a year
From the sagebrush desert alpine in the south valley to above tree line alpine in the western and northern section at Galen Pass. 2,000 ft to 5,000 ft descents in to the valley of the Big Wood River. Located to the west of highway 75 with a tremendous amount of parking and access points. With 3 Backcountry Huts, operated by Sun Valley Trekking, located with in the rage the options are endless.Backcountry skiing is dangerous.
