MCHENRY'S PEAK
MCHENRY'S PEAK
Roughly 40 miles north to south and 15 miles across, the Park rises abruptly out of the eastern plains near Fort Collins, Loveland, and Lyons. The mountains are steep, rugged and remote, often involving fourth or fifth class climbing to reach the distant summits.

Snowpack
Usually windblown and scoured, continental snowpack. Occasional upslope storms plaster the Park with snow, creating excellent skiing conditions.

Mountains

FLATTOP MOUNTAIN (1) Elevation: 12,324 ft

MCHENRY'S PEAK (1) Elevation: 13,327 ft

Deep inside Glacier Gorge lies McHenry's Peak, a rarely visited mountain wedged between Arrowhead and Powell. The peak can be climbed from all sides, although it is most commonly climbed by Stone Man Pass and then onto the NE Face. It is one of the higher 13ers in the Park, and forms a beautiful backdrop to Glacier Gorge that includes Longs, Pagoda, Chiefshead, and McHenry's.
