Highlights

You can ski in these trees mid-storm with good visibility and manageable avalanche terrain. It's easy to access

Ascent

There is probably a well-established skin track. If not, Uneva is the high point NNE of the trailhead. Work your way across the meadow and then up the slopes overhead.

Descent

Nothing complicated. Pick your line and it all drains back to the big meadow.

Access/Permits

Vail Pass is extremely popular. It is also heavily regulated. The south side of the pass is for snow mobile access. The north side is human powered. Either way, you are asked to park on the south side, which will require a $6 pass PER PERSON - not per vehicle. It's one of the few places you have pay for backcountry skiing, but the money helps keeps the peace with all the multi-use.
