Skiing the Cristo Couloir, Quandary Peak, Colorado
Just thought we would let everyone know a couple of cool new features added to skiing the backcountry.

The first really cool feature is a user generated ski guide. Similar to other beta websites (mountainproject.com, summitpost.org, rockclimbing.com, etc), you populate the guide with information, pictures, videos and helpful tips.  Before long, it will be a comprehensive source of backcountry skiing beta.

Here is a list of notable functions:
  1. Ability to rank the quality of the content for each route.
  2. Advanced Route Search (to help you to find a route that matches your skill set).
  3. Live snow reports, weather, avalanche links, and web cams.
  4. Ability to comment and upload photos.  Share your thoughts!
  5. Save your favorite locations as bookmarks.

The second feature we are currently populating is a backcountry skiing resource page. This will contain educational stuff, like how to's, glossaries, ettiquette, and more. A lot of these entries will have video and pictures to make it a great reference for novices and experts searching for all things backcountry skiing.

And the best part is that it is free! Why? Becuase we want to give you the best damn backcountry skiing magazine we can. Think of it as our Christmas present to you. Enjoy!

That's Our Opinion. What's Yours?

Wow, the ski guide looks great! I think it's a good call to require comprehensive info for each route. That way it will be a useful resource instead of a bunch of crap. I'll start going through my photos today!
