Skiing the West Hourglass Couloir, Nez Perce | UNITED STATES, WYOMING | 04/02/2009, by Swiss Miss
Spring break brought warm temperatures and sunny skies to the state of Wyoming and though a climbing trip to the desert was rather enticing, my ski partner Patrick and I loaded up our gear and headed to the Tetons in search of powder and steep couloirs.
We had high hopes of good conditions to be able to ski the Skillet on Mt. Moran, or for Patrick and Mark from Aspen, the Grand itself. Rain in the valley and high winds in the mountains forced us to re-think our objectives, and we settled for a tour in Garnet Canyon and the West Hourglass Couloir on Nez Perce instead.
Enjoy the video!

Bulletproof skinning the whole way up made us a little nervous, but the bootpacking was good and the skiing was variable but great! Things softened up on the way down for great pillow skiing out of Garnet canyon.
