Patagonia Being Sued Over Hypocrisy | 04/01/2011, by powderjunkyWe just got word from an inside source that a disgruntled adversary is suing Patagonia over their "Live Simply" Clothing Campaign. Art Vandalay, a big time importer/exporter says he has had enough hypocrisy and he wants it to stop.
"To pay $30-$40 for a hat or t-shirt that says 'Live Simply' is a bigger oxy-moron than a sober Lindsay Lohan ", explained Vandalay. "I am sick and tired of poor innocent trust funders spending their hard earned money on such a contradiction."
"Living simply, would not require anyone to buy overpriced fabric with stupid graphics.", Vandalay continued, " A guitar with one string and a picture of cutting up a credit card from a company that sells their products online via credit card, is more ridiculous than Tom Cruise pretending to be straight. For a company that produces so much waste in the form of catalogs and other marketing collateral, it was only a matter of time before someone had to step up and do something."
Art Vandalay claims to be that person, who is said to live so simply he buys carbon offsets to offset his carbon offsets.
Skiingthebackcountry.com tried to contact Patagonia for a comment, but as of 12pm, yesterday no one was in the office. Witnesses close to the company report no one has been to the office in months due to their new, "No one do anything that might impact something somewhere" campaign.
Mr. Vandalay will apparently try to sue Patagonia not for any dollar amount, but to only admit that a one stringed guitar sucks to listen too.
