PRODUCT SUMMARY

THE GOOD
The Life Link Slope Meter comes with useful information printed on the reader. It is easy to use and lightweight.

THE BAD
A little too big for my taste. I have a little trouble keeping it in my pants pockets. I think the slope reader is too wobbly and you have to have surgeon hands to get an exact reading. It is not very durable. I had mine for only a couple months before the plastic casing that protects the reader broke rendering the device useless.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The Life Link slope meter will get the job done while out in the backcountry. Just treat it like a fragile egg. There are better slope meters for better prices out there that also come with a compass. If you are looking for small and compact this is not it. If this product was say $5.00 it would be a great buy.

That's Our Opinion. What's Yours?

The idea of a slope meter is great! To pay over $20 seems silly. Surely someone can make a robust item that is so cheap that it is given away as a party favour or conference swag. Those angles from 30º to 50º are really hard to estimate, especially the 10º around the critical 38º. I have an inclinometer on my compass - but it is a pain to haul out and use (but I do). These fragile life-link toys don't seem up to the job of surviving in a pocket during a few tumbles.
