THE GOOD
I love this jacket. Here's why:
- The inside is sooo soft.
- It is a really flattering cut (slightly tapered waist, longer in back, raglan sleeves, high collar)
- It's super lightweight and compressible
- It's made from post-consumer recycled goods
- The material is stretchy, so I feel free as a bird.
- Did I mention that the inside is really really soft?
THE BAD
- The hood isn't quite big enough to fit over my helmet.
- Although the chin zip is covered with super soft fleece, it doesn't process moisture as well as microfiber, so my chin gets wet from condensation.
- The zippers and hood adjustments are pretty small, so they're difficult to use with mittens on.
- I wish there was a catch-all elastic pocket on the inside.
- No pit zips.
- More color choices would be nice!
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Nau is a super progressive company, making eco-friendly apparrel that is both stylish and functional. I truly would be stoked to wear this jacket on a backcountry tour and I would still fit in at a hipster party in downtown Portland. If you are only going to buy one jacket, and it doesn't need to be 100% waterproof, the Shroud of Purrin is a great multifuntional choice.

You will be able to find hoodies that zip up as well as those that you pull over your head. If you are going to be taking it off and putting it back on frequently then you may want to get one that zips up so that you will not have to worry about your hair getting messed up every time you pull it over your head.
