THE GOOD
This boot is awesome and lightweight. I had to adjust the forward lean, which was quick and easy. The Intuition Precision liner adds some beef without the fat, allowing you to ski some
bigger and stiffer skis with confidence. The ski/walk mechanism operated quickly and smoothly. This would be a great every day backcountry boot. The sole (Skywalk Active) is compatible with most AT bindings and Dynafit, and also fits most crampon models easily.
The many options to alter and customize the fit through the liner, buckles, canting, forward lean, etc. make this a great choice for most backcountry enthusiasts who want performance without weight.
THE BAD
The Easy Lock buckles aren't exactly easy to lock...
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The Scarpa Spirit 3 is a high performance lightweight boot specifically intended for Backcountry Skiing.
Light and Strong. This boot does not sacrifice any performance by having only 3 buckles. Many options to customize the fit and alter the setup make this boot a great choice for everyday use. Skis well, walks and tours well.
The most important consideration when choosing a boot is fit. Although nothing replaces actually trying on a boot, I can tell you that I have high arches and low volume feet. Also, I tested these boots using my custom footbeds from the Boot Doctors.

Thank you very much for publishing your review. I have skied the Scarpa Spirit 3 for one full season and concur with your findings. I have narrow, low volume fit and these work great with my custom-cork Superfeet insoles.
Happy turns to us all.

This is a solid boot for running laps. Like a sneaker that is laxed in every situation. This sacrifices downhill perfomance forcing you to change your skiing a bit, but kind of cool. Great and fun boot for consistent fun snow and most of all hikes like a sherpa!

Just a note on the versatility of this boot. I know this is a ski site. I'm a splitboarder and this boot is by far the best boot for the job I have worn yet matched with Voile's Mtn.Plate bindings. In "Walk" mode it surfs pow like you're in bare feet. In "Ski" mode it drives turns more efficiently than any boot/binding set up I've ever ridden. Uphill performance is unmatched to say the least.

Hey split.therapy, we consider the words skiers and riders to be synonyms. Especially becuase it gets so darn redundant to say skiers and riders in every sentence :) We are working on getting more splitboard content as soon as possible! Our goal for this site is to promote community for all backcountry riders no matter what you have on your feet!

For a large volume foot this boot's the bomb. The boot last is as wide and accomodating as i could find. The combination of room and solid intuition liner makes for a great fit. i've skied this boot backcountry and resort pushing big skis and they handle both very well.

Like split.therapy I am using this boot on a splitboard, same setup, and I agree completely. It took me a while to get the fit dialed in, but after cooking and new footbeds it fits like a glove, but for feet.
