PRODUCT SUMMARY

THE GOOD
The telescoping handle allows this shovel to fit easily in any pack. It's strong and relatively lightweight- you won't have to worry about it breaking in half while shoveling thick snow! Although it's not generally recommended by avalanche experts, there are two convenient holes near the top of the blade that allow for exterior mounting on your pack.

THE BAD
The handle is slick, making it difficult to use with gloves; I'd definitely suggest putting some type of grip tape on the shaft. The blade and handle are both on the smaller side, thus moving a lot of snow (or unburrying a buddy) won't be easy with this shovel.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The primary reason to choose this shovel instead of the regular T-handle is if you have a small backpack. Everything else is the same, weight savings of the handle is minimal, and shoveling with a shorter handle is way more difficult. However, this shovel is made with aircraft grade aluminum and has a sleek powder coated finish making it extremely durable and attractive. The telescoping feature is so nice, every shovel should be made this way.
