THE GOOD
The Backcountry Bomb rocks because it is super easy and cuts snow like charlie sheen cuts coke. The Backcountry Bomb attaches to your probe making it super easy to cut large cornices safely. The Backcountry Bomb also conveniently wraps around itself for easy storage. Watch the video above.
THE BAD
The wire can bend since it is metal, but it is easy to bend back.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The Backcountry Bomb is the best cornice cutting tool out there. I have used rope for a while to cut cornices and this tool makes it much faster, safer and easier. The Bomb also makes for a better tool than the G3 cornice cutter because you don't have the ball bulges to tangle the wire on. If you are looking to buy a cord or anything else to cut cornices, don't waste your money on anything else. Cornice cutting is probably the next best thing to skiing powder.
