With the recent return of the sun to Colorado, we celebrated Presidents' Day by heading up into the high country to see how the snowpack has been stabilizing. After the two month storm that was December and January, we seem to back to a more regular pattern of storms followed by a couple days of sunshine. The area we hit up had an incredibly solid midpack, over ten feet deep in places. The top layer was fairly well bonded, enough so that we were able to enjoy some great turns on terrain that's usually a little scary mid-winter. With the warmer temps, spring is in the air and we're looking forward to getting out on some big peaks soon.
