Although backcountry skiing is still rockin this summer, we decided to take a backpacking trip in the desert last weekend. On our way home from Nevada, we saw two badgers standing by the side of the road - a mom and a baby.

We pulled up, stopped the truck and turned off the motor, and we grabbed the camera just in time to catch some video of the fearless little guy waddling up to our truck, snarling, and then disappearing under the wheel well to ATTACK our front tire!

After he figured that the he had truly intimidated us, his mom finally decided to come rescue him from his foolishness and dragged him back to their den by the scruff of his neck, all the while roundly cussing him out for being a silly git. Holy cow, it was CUTE!

What didn't get captured on the video was him actually biting our tire - hey, I wasn't going to get out with a pissed-off badger underfoot! - and the footage of mom and baby back at their den a few yards down the road, and the other baby badger that was waiting there. Super-cool!
