Sunny Days and Steep Skiing | Southern Tetons Backcountry, WY United States | 02/18/08, by powderjunky
Since the snow has settled down a little we thought we would head out
in search of some steep, tight skiing in the Southern Tetons.
It was another beautiful day... The sun warmed my back while a nice
cool breeze kept it from the freakish sweating I am known for.

Skiing smooth as silk powder.
I enjoy a nice sunny day once in a while, but hey it's winter. Let
it snow until June! And of course it limits our options when the sun
beats down on the the snow- turning sweet powder into variable crust
and crap.

Skiing in the narrows of fun little chute.
Despite the warming, we still found some short little chutes that were
filled with the white gold we crave. Our lines were really fun and
hopefully I can get back up there tomorrow. Coverage is soo soo good
right now it has opened up all sorts of fun terrain.

Laying down a nice turn with a free heel!
My recently converted A.T. girlfriend reverted back to her old ways
and gave her telemark skis some action. She didn't miss a beat!

Cruising through the steeps.
On the way home the light in the valley was awesome. The Hole was
illuminated with oranges and reds that no picture can due justice (or
maybe no picture I take!).

Tetons in the sunset
The forecast is calling for snow later in the week!!! Later sunshine, hello soft goodness.
