PRODUCT SUMMARYBy Dark Star
THE GOODComfort These pants are easily the most comfortable ski pants I've ever worn-you'll actually look forward to putting these on in the morning. The Patagonia Backcountry Guide Pants are warm, durable, and super functional for a day of backcountry skiing or session of ice climbing.
Fit Like most Patagonia products the fit is tight, but there's enough room to allow a full range of motion while ascending or descending the mountain.
THE BADSuspenders While the suspenders are supposed to keep the pants stabilized while skiing, I've found they don't really like to stay up on my shoulders. I started using a belt, which negates this effect in total.
Vents While there are 2 side vents that do help release pent up warm air you're dying to let out of your pants on the way up, they aren't long enough to allow the volume of release necessary for a warm day out on the mountain.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOWThis is a great soft shell pant that's durable and meant to work with those of us that ascend as much as we descend in a given day. The built in mini-gaiter keeps snow out, and the brushed interior is as comfy as you'll ever find in a pair of ski pants. A solid pair of pants that's a great product for any backcountry skier that's fully mobile and comes with a lifetime warranty.
