THE GOODI definitely appreciate the lightness of this pack. My current pack is built for men, and without any gear in it, it's substantially heavier, which makes a huge difference in the backcountry and on my back.
I like that you can take the top off to make it even lighter, and when you do keep it on, there's a strap that goes over top to cinch it down enough that it doesn't get in the way.
A great hip belt for women. With men's packs, I've found them to be extremely uncomfortable riding down my hips making the pack rest on my shoulders. This hip belt keeps the pack where it's meant to be.
Metal stays in the pack are good for adjustability which not all packs have.
Enough pockets for all your goods, and I especially like the pockets in the hip belt for easy access to a camera, or sun block for example.
THE BADI understand that an insulated shoulder strap for the hydration system would add weight but it would be worth it for me. The hose gets in the way and freezes up in cold weather. Hydration is extremely important for me in the backcountry and I felt this was a pretty big flaw for me.
There are 2 pockets on the sides for water bottles I'm assuming. I believe that would be cumbersome and awkward if I were to use them. Not using them left the pockets useless and just something to fill with snow, even when I cinched them the top still filled with snow.
Not enough room in the front pocket for skins as they advertise, but the pack has plenty of room in the main area for them.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOWOverall, I liked this pack. I love that it's designed for women specifically. It's so much lighter than my previous 2 packs which was bliss in the backcountry. A good design in my opinion (with the exception of the previously mentioned). The uninsulated hydration hose would be a deal breaker for me unfortunately. I would've liked a side zip as well.
Skis attached to the pack just as well as other packs I've owned.
